Exhaustion and burnout

Signs of sustained overload and first recovery steps — without blaming yourself for being tired.

More than tired

Burnout is emotional and physical exhaustion from prolonged stress, often linked to work or constant caregiving. It includes cynicism, feeling ineffective, and rest no longer restoring you.

Common signs

  • Emptiness or disconnection from what you do
  • Irritability and difficulty concentrating
  • Sleep that does not repair, somatic aches
  • Avoiding responsibilities even when it brings guilt

First recovery steps

Identify load sources you can adjust (boundaries, delegating, real pauses). Restore basics: sleep, nutrition, gentle movement. Structural changes (fewer hours, workplace support) are sometimes needed, not just “more self-care.”

In Anto

Use tasks/habits for micro-breaks, regulation techniques, and chat for structured venting. Severe burnout deserves professional assessment and changes at the stress source.
